Don Gatti |
Don Gatti Wines are produced at the Azienda Agricola Cantine Romagnoli, Villo, Piacenza, Italy. Cantine Romagnoli has been producing fine wines since 1857.
The region is western Emilia-Romagna. The next closest city is Parma which is about 15 miles away. The foods are very similar, which is very delicate, and delicious, mostly roasts, chicken and veal dishes as well as hams, cheeses and pastas in broth.
The wines are delicate and smooth, they enhance the taste and enjoyment of the meal rather than taking over the meal.
All Don Gatti wines are low in sulfites and free of chemical fillers and preservatives. |

Pinot Grigio |
Made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, our Pinot Grigio is clean and crisp, with a delightful finish. Won best Pinot Grigio at the 2004 Vin Italia in Verona, Italy.
Food: Goes well with chicken and veal or by itself.
Cellaring: Best served fresh. |

Malvasia Secco Poggione |

Allowed to mature for on year in stainless. Very floral with a distinctive nose.
Food: Goes well with seafood, oriental food and dishes with lemon flavor.

Made from 100% Malvasia grapes. Clean and crisp, with a delightful finish.
Food: Goes well as an after dinner drink, with a very refreshing Frizz.

Villa d’Este Spumante Special Reserve Brut |

A fine sparkling wine that stands up to the best of them. Fermented in the bottle, turned by hand. Made from a blend of Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Malvasia. Very dry with great taste and aroma.
The house champagne for the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy for the past 128 years.

Gutturnio |
Made from an ancient blend of 60% Barbera and 40% Bonarda grapes. Aged in large Slovoanian Oak Barrels. Ruby red in color, delicate, smooth and full bodied, with a quick finish. Gutturnio is said to have been one of Julius Caesar’s favorite wines. There are many blends on the market, but Gutturnio is the only Barbera blend.
Food: Goes well with roasts, game or alone.
Cellaring: Will stay good for about 8 years if stored properly.

Made from 100% Barbera Grapes. Aged in small French Oak for 6 months and 12 months in large Slovoanian Oak Barrels. Deep ruby red in color, smooth , robust yet delicate, full-bodied with a fantastic aroma.
Food: Goes well with steaks, pasta, red sauces.
Cellaring: Ages well in the bottle and matures with age. |

Made from 100% Merlot Grapes. Aged in small Oak barrels for 6 months and 12 months in large Slovoanian Oak barrels. Ruby red in color, smooth, delicate and full bodied.

IL Sojaro |
|
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Named for one of our famous ancestors, Bernardino Gatti (1497 to 1575). He was the Master Painter of Cremona and Piacenza. Aged in 250ltr French Oak for 12 months and 12 months in large Slovoanian Oak. Alc 13.5% by volume. Only 30,000 bottles produced annually.

Our Gutturnio has become so popular that we decided to import the Riserva style. Made from an ancient blend of 60% Barbera and 40% Bonarda grapes. Aged in 250 ltr French Oak 6 months and 12 months in large Slovoanian Oak Barrels. Ruby red in color, delicate, smooth and full bodied, with a lovely hint of oak. Gutturnio is said to have been one of Julius Caesar’s favorite wines.
Food: Goes well with roasts, game or alone.
Cellaring: Ages well in the bottle.

Don Gatti is proud to present our new addition “Don Gatti d’Toscana” A fine Chianti produced by Poggio Capponi. It is delicate and smooth, with a great finish and aroma. Won a Slow Food Editors Oscar for the vintage year 2006. Rated with a 3 Glass Toast and 89 points. See Slow Food Editor.
